Inputting census data in Legacy.

As Legacy will not allow you to paste into its notes or sources sections
formatted text showing census returns tabulated as produced in the original
records or allow you to insert as pictures full sized copies of the original
census returns to produce as footnotes in that original size I wonder how
people record their census entries in Legacy in a way which reproduces as
closely as possible their original format.

For an example of handling just such a source see:
http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/SourceCensus.asp

You'll note that the source image is linked to each Source Detail for
the Event, at least that's how I handle it.

Hope this helps

That was the reason I asked about the source clipboard.

I imported Gedcoms of 1881 census records from the FamilySearch site, and
imported them to my "Research" file in Legacy, where they had the rouce
references. I then wanted to put the source info in my main file, but found I
had to retype the whole lot, or co[py and paste field by field, which is a bit
of a schlep.
