Trouble with www.onegreatfamily.com ?

Legg inn av Secret » 9. april 2005 kl. 3.37

Has anyone had much to do with <www.onegreatfamily.com>?

I submitted a family tree file to them some time ago, and
inadvertently included details of living individuals. Following a
complaint I received from one of those individuals, for some months
now I've been asking onegreatfamily to remove my file completely from
their database. However despite onegreatfamily saying they would
delete living individuals, the information remains publicly available
(subject to registering with onegreatfamily).

onegreatfamily claim that my family tree joins their larger database,
and there is no way that they can simply delete my file because they
are unable to isolate it. I find this difficlut to believe as they
would need to record detals of each submitter.

I'm pursuing more formal action, but in conjunction with that I'm
planning to get the word out about my experiences with them. Before I
do that, I'm interested in hearing about any other experiences.

For £ 31.45 you can get FTM 2005 and make a site like this
http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/us ... index.html

Updated April 5, 2005

I just deleted the old file and uploaded the new

you make the front page by filling in forms
like http://hometown.aol.co.uk/hughw36/myhom ... mtree.html

both are an ideal first step in learning how to do web pages

if you examine the source afterwards you can learn how they work as
a series of "containers"
