In the 1865 census for Ringsaker (see attached), is there a way to determine the sogn from the data provided?
In the attached example, I am trying to determine the sogn of the Skavlien farm, but I have many other farms for which I need to do this.
The census gives the Tellingskrets -- might there be lists of the tellingskrets by the sogn of Brøttum, Ringsaker and Veldre?
Or is there some other way to determine this?

Re: Determining the sogn from the 1865
I found the answer to my question by going to the actual census, where a list of the districts was found.
Attached is a copy. There might be another way to find out which sokn a tellingskret is located in, and any comments or suggestions would be most welcome.
Takk,
John

Re: Determining the sogn from the 1865
Hi John.
When I make such a query, I prefer to use the Advanced person search, and use as little info as possible to make a broad search. I would start with the census, geography, and the farm name. If there are different ways to write the farm name, choose Disable name variants, and use the different methods described in the Help file to find name variations.
Here is my first search:
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/search ... om=&to=&jt[]=7&c[]=04&firstname=&lastname=&birth_year_from=&birth_year_to=&birth_date=&birth_place=&domicile=skavlien&position=&event_year_from=&event_year_to=&event_date=&related_first_name=&related_last_name=&related_birth_year=
If I choose one person from the list of occupants, for examle number 2 on the list, Peder Larsen:
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census ... 8031011103
That is a copy of the address line, and contains the permanent ID for that person in the 1865 census. That line is what you should store as a link to the source, and also use for additional questions about a person in the forum. On that page, you'll find all info on the right side column. If you start your search with the person's name, i.e. Peder Larsen, you could also click on the farm name in the hit, to find all those living in that place, equal to the first search here.

Re: Determining the sogn from the 1865
Thanks, Olaf
I am not sure how that helps me find the sokn in which the farm is in. It shows the prestegjeld. but not the sokn.
Is there perhaps a different solution than what I found?
Takk!

Re: Determining the sogn from the 1865
John, Skavlien is in Ringsaker hovedsogn, not Veldre or Brøttum.

Thanks, Hans.
As I mentioned in the note, this is just an example. I have lots and lots of farms for which I have to answer this question.
Is there a better way for me to do this than what I had found?
MVH,
John

Re: Determining the sogn from the 1865
After 1880 there is a Veldre Churchbook and Brøttum Churchbook and Aasmarken chapel.
Before 1880 in Ringsaker churchbook it is sometimes written in which churchbook the chiild was baptized. Matrikkelutkastet 1950 will say if the farm is located in Ringsaker hivedsogn, Veldre or Brøttum.
