Fotograf Norland Markeveien 14 Bergen

I am sorry for writing in English. I have the utmost respect for Norway and my Norwegian heritage, but my written Norwegian is very poor, and Google Translate might make me sound even more foolish.

Can anyone help date the attached photo? The key is the photographer’s mark on the bottom. It reads “Norland, Markeveien 14, Bergen.” From what I have found, there were father and son photographers working in Stavanger and Bergen: Børre Norland (b.1855, d.1920) and Selmer Norland (b.1875, d.1931). I am wondering which one may have worked from the Markeveien 14, Bergen location and what time frame. This will help identify if the woman on the left is my great grandmother since she left Bergen for Lake Park, Minnesota, USA in 1892 at age 17. The photo was found in my grandmother's things, and of course, there is no writing on the back. Only an "x" above the woman on the left. The woman on the right might be her sister.

I found an electronic copy of that book online and agree with you. So, the woman on the left is not my great grandmother since she left Bergen in 1892. The ages of the women seem too young to be her sister and mother, also. I guess I will never know without any writing on the back.
