PHPGedview for a genealogical society

Any experience with PHPGedview for a genealogical society ?

I think to a shared database, where any member may receive a
password and upload a GEDCOM file, but with no control over the
data of an other user. With a global search tool...

I've only used it on a 1-gedcom site, and I think it's great. Run a
limited trial. Pick three or four people and have them try it out.

Joe's experience is mine, as well. I've been more than happy with
phpGedView. I have to admit I haven't spent a lot of time customizing the
presentation, but it's remarkably easy to use. Also consider using gdbi
-- a java-based frontend -- with it. Google for "phpGedView" for more
information.

You might want to go to the project page at sourceforge:
http://phpgedview.sourceforge.net/. See also:
