Any experience with PHPGedview for a genealogical society ?
I think to a shared database, where any member may receive a
password and upload a GEDCOM file, but with no control over the
data of an other user. With a global search tool...

Joe's experience is mine, as well. I've been more than happy with
phpGedView. I have to admit I haven't spent a lot of time customizing the
presentation, but it's remarkably easy to use. Also consider using gdbi
-- a java-based frontend -- with it. Google for "phpGedView" for more
information.
