Krigsskatt in 1713

Hello,

I am looking for the parents of my 5th great-grandfather, Knud Sjursen (1703-1781) of Aurland, Sogn og Fjordane. He was born after the 1701 census and before the parish records for that area started.

Does anyone know how the War Tax of 1713 worked? Who had to pay this tax? Has anyone seen these records? My guess is that if they still exist, they are at the National Archives and have not been scanned.
