Han er født 7. juni 1858 i Trostholeie i Løten, av foreldrene Anton Larsen Finstadeie og Berthe Johannesdatter Storfinstadeie.

I 1875 bodde han i Bjerkeeie, Løten.

One question is Andreas still in Texas in the 1900 folktelling...which is 19 years after he emigrates from Norway (emigrates in 1881)...

I have not seen many Norwegians going to Texas...many went to the Midwest....
Do you know why he went to Texas?

THEN...what name did he use over here...there are many possibilities...

I know nothing more than that he emigrated from Norway in 1881 and that his destination was Texas, as listed in the protocol ... I do not know what name he used after having emigrated.

I have not found him in the censuses of 1900 and 1910.

I følge emigrantprotokollene skulle også Johan Larsen fra Løten og Peder Jensen fra Romedal også til Waco i Texas, så jeg regner med disse reiste sammen.

I searched a different way this time...
Do you think Andreas might have used Finstad for a family name...
When I searched that name I found several people in Texas in 1900 and 1910 censuses.
Perhaps you can find out if there is a connection to your Andreas.

I did not find Andreas...

this is what I found: Bosque county Texas
1910 "Ella"Finstad is a widow....immigrated 1876
a brother (Mat Bumson??spelling) age 53
and son Mat Finstad age 22, b. in Texas

Also in 1910 in Bosque TX is a Henry Finstad age 26 b. in Texas (b. about 1884)
he is married to Anna and they have 2 children, Castelle?? age 3 and son Milton (age 1 and a half).

In 1900 "Ela/Ele?" Finstad is still a widow in Bosque co Texas ..b. March 1860 in Norway, son Mat? Finstad b. Texas age 22. Also a brother to Ella..Mat Bumson?? age 50.

Then a Carrie Finstad, age 35 (also a widow) b. Dec. 1865 in Norway living in Bosque Texas
9 children. Carrie immigrated 1873

The thing is that Bosque county is near to Waco, Texas ...North West (I think)...

This is just an idea for family name of Andreas...I don't know if this info helps????

Most of these people are farmers..perhaps cattle(cow?) farmers???

Sorry..correction
In the 1900 census, Ela Finstad's son is Mathias (not "Mat") age 12...so born about 1888 in Texas.

And Ella's brother Mat "Bumson" (spelling?) is in the 1910 census (not the 1900 census) and he is age 53...

I had trouble finding the page you mentioned from this book.

Sometimes "destination"...can just mean where the train stopped!...and the person got off...

You can only access the book with Norwegian IP address.

Andreas Antonsen is listed with Waco as destination when he emigrated from Norway, but he has not been found in Texas.

I now understand re: why I could not find the page in the book...thanks for explaining...
There is also a book in English:
Bosque county Land and People
It talks about many Norwegians living in the area...again I should say Bosque county is very near to Waco.

I STILL could not find Andreas...so maybe I am off the track with Bosque county...??

But perhaps you can find the book?...you can read the pages online...
One "Finstad" (can't remember first name)...came from "Loiten" (in Hedemarken)...
"HE" married Agnette Finstad or was it Gunda Finstad?? in 1884

So is it possible that Andreas used Finstad?..I saw that as part of his father's name..
Andreas can become Andrew "over here"...

Is Løten in Hedemarken?...perhaps it was misspelled Loiten in this book.

I know there are many times that Norwegians from one area of Norway tend to settle in
the same area when they come to America...
That is the way with my husband's Norwegian family/relatives.....many settled near Eau Claire, WI....then they moved on to different areas...

Yes, Løten and Løiten is the same (it is not misspelling)
It is in Hedmark county.

The most famous person born in Løten is the painter Edvard Munch. His father was a doctor there. But he did not grew up in Løten.
