Eg søkjer no etter ein Julius Kolden, einaste bror til oldefaren min, som kom til Kanada i 1924. I 1930 vart han registrert som kanadisk borgar og nemnt som farmar i Chauvin i Alberta.

Er det nokon som veit korleis ein skal gå fram for å finne meir, evt. har tilgang til kjelder for å kunne finne ut kva tid han døydde, og eventuelt om han etterlet seg nokon?

Chauvin is a small farming village in the eastern part of Alberta, 10 km from the border to Saskatchewan. The population is only about 300-350 or so. It is very likely that the mayor has access to old records and also knows a lot of the people living there. It would not surprise me if some of the farmers in the area knows of Julius Kolden or any descendants. It is worth a try.

Thanks again, Margit - theese Koldens are of the family my great great grandfather bought the farm Kolden from ab. 1900, my family is quite small in numbers, and only Julius, my great grandfather's only brother, went abroad.

I've recieved an email from the Chauvin mayor - they did not find anything, nor did the elder residents know of Julius - and I see the two towns Chauvin and Ponoka is divided only by a three hour ride, so I believe Adele's emails will tell me more
