Re: Palm Tungsten PDA
Try http://www.ghcssoftware.com/gedstarpro.htm. This product can import data
directly from your Legacy database, without having the GEDCOM-export hassle.
It converts and stores all your facts and events, and even the Legacy to-do
items. It is also especially optimized for the Tungsten's hi-res color
screen and supports the 5-way navigator. It is available as an add-on from
the Legacy web site if you decide to buy it.

Depends which Palm software you choose but just about all software will
accept a GEDCOM file. You can create a GEDCOM file from your Legacy
database by going to File | Export to | and select GEDCOM or you can use
CTRL E and select GEDCOM from the drop-down menu.
Some software may use the Legacy database directly.
There is a free PAF file viewer for Palm (well hidden but there are
instructions on how to download it at

it accepts PAF files which oyu can export from Legacy.

You need to run GedStar to convert the GEDCOM database you've exported
from Legacy to a .pdb file and then HotSync that onto the Palm.
I don't use GedStar but there is a manual in Acrobat format at
http://www.ghcssoftware.com/dnload/GedStar5.pdf. There is a quick start
commencing on the bottom of page 5 and more detailed info on p10 onwards.

Re: Palm Tungsten PDA
Hi Dave!
You install the Gedstar software also on your computer, then "hotsync" it onto your Palm.
Then you start the Gedstar program on your computer and do as it ask! Find your Legacy *fdb, and answer all the questions on your screen. Then you do the hotsync again - and your *fdb will be awailable on your Palm.
Good luck, I just love my Palm!
