Geographic place name changes

Hello again
I am trying without success to find place names on a modern day map, so I am
assuming the names were changed.
The places were:
Idd
Aremark
Urskog

Also, if someone's birthplace on the censuses was Berg, is that short for
Bergen?

Hi.

Urskog would be Aurskog in a modern map, in Akershus.
Aremark is north east of Halden in Østfold.
Idd is south east of Halden. All these places are close to the Swedish
border.

Berg is not short for Bergen, but there are several places and also farms
called Berg in Norway.

Hi Anne!
No, only one of the names has changed, Urskog to Aurskog.
Idd is a parish in Østfold, in Halden kommune.
Aremark is a parish in Akershus.
Urskog = Aurskog in Akershus.
Go here: http://www.hvor.no/kart.aspx
Enter the names, you get some choices - pick 'kirke' for the first two,
Aurskog-Høland for the last.
You can zoom in and out with the buttons on the right.

And I doubt Berg would be an abbreviation for Bergen. Berg is a pretty
common farm name and may be a parish name as well.
