Descendants of Nils Olsen (1867) and 'Toro' Olsdatter (1873)

Nils Olsen married Gunhild Marie Nielsdatter (1865) and in 1900 had two children: Olaf Nilsen (1888) and Edrun Nilsen (1899) according to the 1900 census. I do not know if there were other children.
I could not discover if 'Toro' Olsdatter ever married. Nils and 'Toro' were the children of Ole Erlandsen Rustdalen. Ole also had other children: Anne Olsdatter (1850), Mari Olsdatter (1855), 'Ronnaug' Olsdatter (1857), Erland Olsen (1860 who emigrated to the U.S. in 1886), and Elliv (Ellev) Olsen (1863). My Grandmother 'Synne' Erlandsdatter was one of the daughters of Erland Olsen born in 1883 in Lom and was three years old when she came to the U.S. Ole, Brit and Knudt were also born in Lom. His other children: Oscar Erland, Selma Alvida, Luella, Nina, Alfred, and Lillian Elvina were born in the U.S.
Ole Erlandsen Rustdalen (1818) was married to Britte Elevesdatter (1819?) and Ole's parents were Erland Olsen (14/3/1784--date as in Norway) who married 'Syne' Hansdatter on May 9, 1814.
Erland Olsen's parents were Ole Erlandsen (1748?) and Goro? Torkilsdatter.
If there are grandchildren or greatgrandchildren of Nils or 'Toro', I would be interested in hearing from them to reconnect with family in Norway.

Nils Olsen (born 1867) and his wife Gunhild Marie Nilsdatter (born 1865) in 1900 lived at the Opperud farm in Nordre Land, Oppland county.

What are the indications that Nils Olsen (1867) (in Lom, Oppland ?) (brother of 'Toro') is identical to above mentioned Nils Olsen, married to Gunhild Marie Nilsdatter ?

('Toro' is by the way not used as a given name in Norway, and would probably be instead 'Torø' (Toroe), 'Tora' or 'Tore', the latter being used for both males and females).

This is perhaps Ole Erlandsen (born appr. 1820 in Lom, in 1865 living as a cotter under the Trosloekken farm in Ulstad, Lom, Oppland), with his wife Thorø (Toroe/Tora) Hansdatter from Lom (b. appr. 1815), with children Ole Olsen (appr. 1849), Ingri(d) Olsdatter (appr. 1852), Anne Olsdatter (appr. 1856) and Rønnaug Olsdatter ( appr. 1860) (ages not to be taken 'too literally') :

No other children seem to be living with these parents in 1865, so if 'Mari Olsdatter (1855)', 'Erland Olsen (1860)' and 'Elliv (Ellev) Olsen (1863)' were additional siblings here, they must have either died or moved elsewhere by the time of the census. (See below !)

NB: Later today I discovered that above Ole Erlandsen is NOT the same Ole Erlandsen, that was married to Britte Ellevsdatter (born appr. 1819).

Nils Olsen (1867) and Torø Olsdatter (1873) were children of (this other) Ole Erlandsen and Britte Ellevsdatter. As were Eiliv Olsen, born 1863 .

This appears to be Erland Olsen's parents in the 1801 census, Ole Erlandsen and Goro Torkildsdatter, living (as owners ?) at the Øye (Oeye) Søndre farm in Lom, with children Torkild (26), Anne (24), Thorø (20), Erland Olsen (18 years old; born appr. 1783), Ole (12) and Anne (!) (7) :

In the 1865 census, one Erland Olsen, born appr. 1858, is living at the Øy(e) Søndre farm in Ulstad, Lom, with his parents, Ole Torkelsen (Torkildsen) (born appr. 1809) and Kari Hansdatter (born appr. 1815), and siblings Hans Olsen (appr.1851), Ellef Olsen (Ellev/Eiliv) (appr.1853) and Anne Olsdatter (appr.1858), and, probably also sibling, Torkel Olsen (appr.1835) :

This would suggest that the parents of Erland Olsen (born appr. 1860) and perhaps Ellev Olsen (born appr. 1863?) mentioned by Donna may perhaps not have been Ole Erlandsen (Rustdalen) (b.1818/1820), but rather above mentioned couple, Ole Torkelsen and Kari Hansdatter, who appear to be owning the same farm in Lom (Øye Søndre) where Ole Erlandsen (b. appr. 1746) and Goro Torkildsdatter (b. appr.1751) lived in 1801 (se above posting).

In this case, the latter couple's son Torkel Olsen (born appr. 1775) (see 1801 census, above) (an elder brother of Erland Olsen, born appr. 1783) would probably (in 1865) be the (deceased) husband of Ambjør Olsdatter (born appr. 1782), who in 1865 lives (83 years old) at Øye Søndre (see above link), together with her assumed grandson Torkel Olsen (30). Ambjør's son Ole Torkelsen runs the farm.

(This Ellef (born 1863) is obviously not identical to the son Ellef (born 1853) of Ole Erlandsen's younger cousin (?) Ole Torkelsen).

About Ole Erlandsen (born appr. 1820) (married to Torø Hansdatter), in 1865 living as a cotter at Trosløkken in Lom, obvisously in 1875 moved to Marsteien-eie), it is written in the 1865 census that he 'Har været paa Gaustad' / ('has been at Gaustad'). Gaustad is the name of a mental hospital in Oslo.

They lived in 1865 as cotters under Fladhammer in Luster, Sogn og Fjordane. In 1875 (see above) they had moved (back) to Lom.

There is probably a pretty good chance that the two are the same. The actual birthdate for Nils Olsen is April 19, 1867 and for his sister 'Toro' it is April 5, 1873.

Erland Olsen (grandfather of Erland Olsen born on October 28, 1860) was born on March 14 and baptized on April 9 of 1784 and married May 9, 1814.

Birth, baptism and marriage dates above are from parish records. Parish records for the mid-1700's are very difficult to read, so the estimate of Ole Erlandsen's birth at 1748 (grandfather of Ole Erlandsen)?

Yes, but the first name was written as Elland in 1860 page 16 # 140. Parents' names are as Ole Erlandsen and Britte Ellevesdatter. The confirmation record in 1875 p. 162, # 17, however, shows his name as Erland Olsen and parents as Ole Erlandsen and Britte Ellevsdatter.
I discovered another instance of a child's name spelled one way on the birth record and another on the confirmation record: Kristian Magnussen and Christian Magnussen.

I have other information on Nils Olsen born on 19/4/1867 (date as in Norway) in Luster:
He married Marie Nilsdatter and they had two children: Olaf Nilsen born on 23/9/1888 and Edrun Nilsdatter born on 25/2/1899 in Nordre Land.
Olaf Nilsen Married Inga Johannesdatter and they had one son Nils Olafsen born on 13/9/1907.
I will check the 1910 census records as well.
If possible, I would appreciate having an e-mail from any living relatives of Nils Olafsen.

Live Knudsdatter (Oien) whose parents were Knudt Hansen (Lokien) and 'Synne' Andersdatter.

Live Knudsdatter (Oien) was born in 1856 and married Erland Olsson Dalen (born in Skjak, Lom in 1860).

Erland emigrated to USA in 1886.

Erland was the son of Ole Erlandsson Dalen and Brit Eilevsdotter Dalen (Heggerusten) and the brother of Anne Olsdotter Ophaug (Dalen), Mari Olsdotter Dalen, Rønnaug Olsdotter Jonsgard (Dalen), Eilev Olsson Dalen, Thorø Olsdotter Dalen, Nils Olsson Dalen and Kari Olsdotter Dalen.

Ole Erlandsen Married Britte Ellevesdatter and they had 7 children one of which was my great grandfather--Erland Olsen who emigrated to the U.S. in 1886 when my grandmother was three years old.
Anne Olsdatter married Ole Endresen but I did not discover if the had any children.
Mari Olsdatter married an Ole Endresen Hage and they had 4 children: Edvard Olsen born in 1878, Anne Olsdatter born in 1883, Ole Olsen born in 1890, and Marit Olsdatter born in 1893.
Roanug Olsdatter born in 1857 in Luster.
Ellef Olsen born in 1863.
Nils Olsen born in 1867, married Gunhild Marie Nilsdatter and had a son Olaf in 1888. Olaf married Inga Johannesdatter and they had a son Nils Olafsen born in 1907. They also had a daughter, Edrun Nilsdatter, born in 1899.
'Toro' Olsdatter born in 1873.
