Videre vet jeg fra "Walsh Heritage - A story of Walsh county and its piorneers" følgende:

Johan (John) var det eldste barnet i familien. Han var født 1. april 1864. Han emigrerte til de Forente Stater når han var en ung mann, og fant veien til Grafton hvor han ble gift med Julia Gurina Johnson, 23. desember 1894.
De fortsatte å bo i Grafton de neste fire årene før de flyttet til Edmore, hvor de skaffet seg land i Newland Township i 1898. På denne eiendommen, tre miles syd for selve byen, bygde de et torvhus.

I 1913 flyttet familien til Morrissey’s farm i Francher Township, hvor de bodde de neste 27 årene, for senere å flytte inn til Edmore.

I have all 4 Walsh County History books and I do not find your John Jenson in the books. What page was he on??
On page 224 of volume III is Duane Tollefson, son of Alvilde, who was a daughter of John and Julia Jenson. Duane only had one child, Deborah, who was born in 1975.

Thanks for information.

Johan (John) and his family is mentioned in Volume II page 821. See also the attached document on my first post (scanned version).

You helped me with his brother 2 years ago (the Alpha family). That ended up with a visit to California this last summer and a meeting with one of his grandsons! It was just lovely.

It seems that the brothers (Hans Jensen Alpha and John Jensen) and their families lived "side by side" in ND...

I'd like to know more of this "branch" too - as I am going over to USA again this spring/summer - and I could find more (deceased and living) relatives - it would be great!

Well, the biggest problem is, I am not finding deaths in the USA with the information from the book. The birthdates do not match up. I will check some more in North Dakota, otherwise I suspect some went to Canada.

Agnes Grace Mitchell, who reigned as Queen of the Post on the VFW Post 10252 float during the Anchorage Fourth of July parade in 1991, died Dec. 28, 1995, at the Anchorage Pioneers' Home. She died on her 90th birthday. A memorial service was held at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10252, 3105 Mountain View Drive. Jesse Eubanks, post chaplain, officiated. A celebration of life in her memory followed. Honorary pallbearers included Dave Carpentier, Clyde ''Red'' Cross, Joe Smith, Joe Simms, Dave Herndon and William ''Thorny'' Thornburg.

Herds of buffalo and wild horses still roamed the prairie near Edmore, N.D., her family said, when Mrs. Mitchell was born in a sod house Dec. 28, 1905. She started her career in the food industry as a waitress at age 17. She was married at age 19 to a U.S. Marine and made ammunition during World War I. In 1936, she moved to Minneapolis, where she owned a restaurant. She moved to Anchorage in 1952 and worked at Whittier and Eklutna and managed many Anchorage restaurants. Mrs. Mitchell retired as a gourmet chef from the old Chart Room of the Anchorage Westward Hotel in 1973. She donated time and effort to VFW Post 10252. Her membership was based upon her three brothers' service during World War I. She was also a member of American Legion Post 1.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughters, Deloris Elaine Raustadt of Annandale, Minn., and Marlys Swartz of Fairview Heights, Ill.; stepson, Ron Mitchell of Anchorage; 13 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Seth; her parents; four sisters; and three brothers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10252 Building Fund, 3105 Mountain View Drive, Anchorage 99501. Arrangements were handled by Evergreen Memorial Chapels.

Paul 'Bud' Raustadt

Paul "Bud" Arnold Raustadt, 86, of Annandale died on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010.

A memorial was held on Sat., Nov. 27, at the Annandale Care Center chapel, Annandale, and burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris; daughter, Barbara Lee O'Reilley and her husband, Jim, of Annandale; son, Danny Raustadt of Phoenix, Ariz.; granddaughter, Jodi O'Reilley; grandson, Paul O'Reilley and his wife, Lisa; great-grandchildren, Morgan O'Reilley and Cody O'Reilley.

He was preceded in death by parents, Paul and Josephine; and sister and brothers, Evelyn, Stanley and Robert.

"Bud" was a retired autobody repairman and auto painter in Minneapolis and Annandale. He served as a paratrooper and gliderman in World War II with the U.S. Army 17th Airborne division, "Thunder From Heaven." His division fought in the infamous Battle of the Bulge and was among the first to launch an airborne assault into Germany, crossing the Rhine River via parachute drop and glider. "Bud" received the Purple Heart.
