Hi all,
I have been trying to print a book from PAF with pictures. As PAF saves it
as rich text format, it goes into MS Word and that is where my problem is.
Because Word uses so much memory, I run out of memory very quickly - I have
256mbs and a 40 gig hard drive.
Would it be better to copy everything into Powerpoint and produce the book
from there or is there a better way of doing this.
Thank you.

I would suggest the problem isn't WORD or the amount of your memory, but
rather the number of pictures you're including. Also, if you do a
SAVEAS and make it a word document, rather than rtf, you'll save some
memory because SAVEAS will strip the buffers and get rid of extraneous
garbage from the rtf. Doing this once a day pays off, big time. (g)
Once you've finished polishing and shining, you can return it to rtf for
sharing.

Thanks for your reply. I always thought that rtf saved smaller than a.doc
and I have been using Word for ???something years and never had a problem.
But I am a great believer in that you do learn something new every day and I
did, thank you.
After reading your email I went to my files and had a look and it was there
right in my face.
Also, I had a thought that if I saved each generation individually, it would
be easier to handle - I think.
Thanks once again,
Di

They do tell me that you can save each generation individually, create
that master-document thingy, and all will be well in the index. By the
time they told me that, I was 3 years into the project and reluctant to
risk it. (g)
The rtf thingy I discovered when I opened and rtf file in DOS-edit (g).
Glad it helped.
