Printers - HP-1300

Is there any known way to get a new HP-1300 laser jet to reveal how many
pages it has printed? I can do it on my old HP II and III, but I don't
have that many buttons on the 1300, and if there's anything in the
manual or on-line, I haven't found it yet.

I have a 1200 model. On it. there is a button next to the "ready"
light. Press it and you get a Self Test page that contains the data
you want. Maybe the 1300 is the same.

BTW, I'm now at 4955 pages printed with 4 pages jammed. I wonder if
that jam rate is typical? (I use cheap paper.)

Wasn't quite close enough for hand grenades, Charlie. There is a button,
but it gets me a pretty page that tells me how many copies a tone cart
should give me (2500) and how fast the printer is -- all boiler-plate.

I suggest that you take a look at the newsgroups under

alt.comp.periphs......
I'm sure that one of the many groups under that category will relate to
your printer. Try posting your inquiry there, but a warniung--some of
those groups have more nuts than an almond tree.
