I use Windows ME and I have WinZip.

Should I put the file in GED format and then Zip it??

Genealogy software for middle school student

Legg inn av Mila Begun » 27. august 2004 kl. 2.35

A friend's cousin has become very interested in family genealogy. At 11
1/2 years old, is there any particular software that would be better for
him than the popular programs on the market?

Thanks in advance for any useful advice. M.Begun

I can't help but think that the standard advice - download PAF and Legacy
and try them out - would be good here. Or look for demos - just about
every program has one - and have him try them out.

Another consideration - are there other people in the family that he
could share data with? What program(s) do they use?

Just don't get the kid a toy - he's old enough to appreciate and use a
real tool.

Thanks, Joe for the suggestions. Will pass them along to the friend who
wants to help her young cousin.

BTW, tried to respond directly to your email address, but your system
didn't like my address -- said it wasn't any good! MBegun
