CD Burner questions

If this is the wrong place for these questions, please help with a list
or website.
Since installing Norton 2004 I have problems.
When accessing Adaptec CD burner to copy an audio CD it spawns Real
Player 1 and begins playing music before I have a chance to burn a CD.
When I try to access Easy CD Creator it tells me Adaptec is already in
use thereby blocking access in some way.
I am wondering whether Roxio and Real Player are sharing files - I see
them advertised together.
Shall I uninstall one or the other or both and then reinstall?
I have tried Googling but can not find anything but ads.
All help/ suggestions will be appreciated. Please hurry I have to burn
CDs for tomorrow!

I don't have Real Player (I don't think I do at least), so I can't
really help with your problem.... but if it is starting when you don't
want it to, why not try uninstalling it? It's not like it's something
essential.

If that doesn't work, try locating hte newsgroup
comp.publish.cdrom.software
That's a newsgroup specifically about CD ROM software.

Incidentally, Norton Utilities is notorious for causing all kinds of
problems. I use Norton, but only the anti-virus. I keep the rest of
the package off my computer.

Thank you Charlie, I think I will uninstall Real Player - must go one step
at a time. My (used to be) Adaptec CD Burner may now be Roxio. I think it is
too old to upgrade.

In the Properties for the CD drive, turn off AutoPlay.
