Adolf Groth Monrad Family

Hello, I would like to learn more about my family in Norway! My great Grandfather was Karl Otto Monrad, son of Adolf Groth Monrad.

I've been looking for information on my family and have found:

Marriage record for Adolf Groth Monrad and Anna Rebekka Olsen
Baptism records for all of their 8 children: Christiane, Oscar, Gudrun, Karl, Gustav, Aasta, Arnulf, Trygve.

Karl came to the USA in 1907, lived in Washington State until his death in 1971.

Trygve came to the USA and was a merchant seaman. He died in California in 1983 and appears to have no family.

Gustav may have come to the USA, but I have not been able to learn much about him.

I am very interested in learning more about the family that stayed in Norway and would love to find some relatives!

and this is his baptism 1872. Adolf is unmarried, and the mother is Mathilde Gunnelie Bye.

This is another son Johannes b. 1878

This is Adolf in 1875 cencus with his wife.

Marriage 1875 - he is born i Christiansand

I've got some additional information.

You may already have found the babtism of Karl Otto. Parents: Sergeant Adolf Monrad og wife Anna Rebekka Olsen

He got a child in 1907. Number 160

The father are registered as living in America (ft i Amerika), so there is a high probability that this is the correct Karl Otto Monrad.

His emigration records shows that he went to America in 1907 as well. The reason is now more understandable.

Amalie Eide is my great-grandmother. Henry Alfred Eide died in September 1989, and lived most of his adult life with his brother, my grandfather Anton Emil Lund at Sommervold i Grensen, Trondheim. He is buried at Tilfredshet cematory, Trondheim in the Lund family grave.

I didn't know much about Karl Otto, as I haven't really traced him past his parents, nor did I know where he went, so this is all new to me. Feel free to PM or email me to get more information about Amalie Eide.

Anmerkninger: Barnet er fød paa Odderøen, hvor Moderen kom i land paa sin Reise fra Trondhjem, angivet af Pige Anne Knudsen. 

So he is born at Odderøen near Kristiansand, where his mother came ashore on a journey from Trondheim. Both Christiane Trappenæs and Johannes Fredriksen are from Trondheim.

The hunt is on for Adolf Groth's confirmation. In Adolf Groth Monrad's marriage entry his father is Johannes Fredriksen Monrad. Still uncertain who he was...

I am Gudrun Amalie Monrads granddaughter. This is my first visit on this "slektsforum" and I found your search for relatives five minutes ago. Here you have found one. I also have two brothers. My grandmother is buryed together with Adolf Groth Monrad. If you want to know more about us, write back. (I shall see if I have some pictures.)
