i have a feeling that they might of been married around 1860 but there are no records i have the births of all the chilodren and have entries in the digital archives and his and her parents and the only one or date i dont have is their marriage dates i live in australia and find it hardc to find info and also translating it norwegian into english i know a little norsk but left norway in 1970 so my norwegian is limited so if there is anywhere else but the norwegian archives i would like to know thank you

The family lives at the farm Bie ytre in Fjære, but very near Grimstad (town).
August Hansen, seaman, 25 years old - born in Farsund.
Elise Olsd., 28 years, born in Fjære.
They also have a son, Emanuel Augustson, 1 year old.

yes that it is them emanuel is named after his grandfather nils emanuel hansen but it says that elise is his kone(wife ) but in the census she uses her maiden name emanuel ausustson later to be hansen was born in 1864 in fjaere so i believe they were married just before that

Good! (I live in Grimstad)

At that time in Norway they didn't used family names, just father + sen/datter. But people on farms often used the farmname and some "noble families" used family names.

There are serious discussions among genealogist on how we today should write down and understand these types of names.

is their anyway i can find out when they were married and is there any way i can get any records Eg certificates etc from grimstad my great great grandfather johan herman nilsen also lived in fjaere /grimstad born 1841 died 1926 i suppose they were buried in grimstad but they don appear on dis norge gravesite if you can help in any way it would be much appreciated

is there anybody out there that can help me to find marriage date for nils august hansen and elise marie olsdatter around 1860 in fjaere /grimstad so far i cant find any records for that area around 1860 hopefully someone can help
