Hei.

Jeg har nettopp fått bekreftet at Oluf Pedersen, født 02.09.1855, Norderhovs Prgj. hadde en søster som vokste opp.

Søsteren var Maren Karine f. 29/12-1857, dpt.14/2-1858 i Norderhov. Jeg har et postkort sent til Oluf Pedersen Hval, Ringerike, Hønefoss. Det er stemplet 23.12.1913, fra MINN (Minnesota?). Teksten lyder: "Glædelig jul og et godt ny aar ønskes eder alle fra din søster". Så hvis Maren Karine er hans eneste søster, burde det være hun som har emigrert. Problemet er at jeg ikke kan finne henne i emigrasjonslistene!

Da faren, Peder Andersen, døde i 1876 har som sagt sorenskriveren registrert at Maren Karine var i Asker. I alla fall flyttet hun til Christiania i 1877. Hun fikk nok attest 1879

I think that you should check this lady, she was born in December of 1857 in Norway. In other census records she uses Maren K Olson.
