hi,
i am looking for the folks of jens or john havdal b-31 jan. 1834 in melhus area. he married in 20 april 1872 norway to helen torstensdatter born 16 aug. 1845 rissa.
not sure how jens full name was spelled.

Jens Olsen Havdal is unmarried, living together with his father Ole Jensen (66 years old) and his two sisters Ranni (28 yrs) and Sigrid (22 yrs).

Following from that I may have found Jens's birth, but the page is torn and only the name Havdahl is visible. But the year is 1834 and the parents are Ole Jensen and Marith Simonsdatter Havdahl. See the link (11th set of parents from the top):

The marriage of Ole Jensen and Marith Simensdatter can be found at Familysearch. They married on 19.10.1829 . Ole is born 1800 so 29yrs at marriage. His father Jens Havdal. Marit is born 1807 so 22 yrs at marriage. Her father Simen Stokke.
Marith Simonsdatter died before 1865.

In 1801 Ole Jensen is 1 yrs old living at Havdahl. His parents are Jens Olsen 36 years old (born approx 1775) and Ranni Olsdatter 33 years old (born approx 1778). Also one brother Ole Jensen (5 yrs) and sister Marit Jensdatter (3 yrs):

You will find the family in th bygdabook Melhusboka volume 3 page 285/286.

The information Line has given you is corresponding with the information from that book. Ole and Marit had 11 children. There was one Simen born 1836, he emigrated. Also one daughter; Siri (or Sigrid) born 1844, emigrated.
