I 1910 census Emiel Strand bor i McLean County, ND. Han er 37 år og er smed (blacksmith).
Han er ikke gift...og immigrated i 1903 (?)...the census taker wrote "7 years" instead of the year of immigration.
Du skriver "Emil" immigrated i 1915.
Hva tenker du? Jeg tenker dette "Emiel" i 1910 er samme mann du finne i 1920 i Ryder.

I suspect Patty is right, he first came in 1903. I believe the 1930 census states that he came in 1903. Perhaps there were two of them with the same name born the same year, I have run across this before.
If you want me to look some more, you will need to tell me in English what you need. Why do you think he was married with a child? Where is he living in the 1900 Norwegian census?
Even tho I have a Norwegian name, Margit, and all my ancestors are from Norway, I regret to say, I do not always understand the context of what is being searched for on this message board when one writes in Norwegian.

helt riktig margit.jeg fant emil nå i oslo 1903 30 år gammel
jeg fikk feil opplysning av his grandson.
men margit kan du finne når han døde i usa.
vil du vere så snill å se etter.
jeg har ikke funnet ham død

she`s right, Margit. He emigrated in 1903, 30 years old.
I just found it in Oslo. His wife Berthe Gubrandsdatter Strand and son Even Strand was with him, but left. Thy went home to Norway. He stayed in USA.
They got divorced. Can you found out something for me. Did he get married again? and when he died.

St. Louis County of Minnesota has a great website with marriages on it and deaths. Perhaps you may find more information on the site, but I do not think he ever married again.

You are welcome Tor! It is nice to know that the 1903 immigration year was correct, since the information was written in a "round about way" in the 1910 census....and I know it did not "agree" with the other immigration year (1915).
