Descent of the Porters of Lamberhurst from the Porters of Ma

At one point I wasn't terribly impressed with the claim, in the 1619
Kent Visitation, p. 155, that Jane (Porter) Hawes' Sussex ancestors
originally came from Markham in Nottinghamshire:

However, it seems clear, from this volume of _North Country Wills_,
that at least one member of the family was living at Throwley, Kent,
in 1478:

Anybody have thoughts about the validity of the claim of the Bayham-
Frant-Lamberhurst family to descend from the Markham family?
