More E3 Descents for the King Barts of Boyle Abbey

On Leo's great website here
http://www.genealogics.org/pedigree.php ... y=standard

we see a four-generation pedigree chart for
Sir Henry King, 3rd Bart of Boyle Abbey

Note the lack of his paternal line
His father Robert King 1st Bart is not only a Cecil 6 and also an E11
stepping back in 11 steps to Edward III King of England
as I shall demonstrate.

The momentous thing that make me sit up was when I read that Henry's
grandfather, also named Robert King, knighted in 1621 was Governor of
Boyle Castle in Ireland in 1641; *however* in 1642 due to his second
marriage, he move to London where he moved into.... CECIL House.

What? Where? How?

It turns out that the fortunate Mr King had married the widowed Sophia
le Zouche, COUNTESS of Wimbledon, you may all remember her fondly as
the last wife of Edward Cecil Viscount Wimbledon, the third son of
Thomas Cecil 1st Earl of Exeter (created 1605)

Edward Cecil Viscount Wimbledon had d.s.p.m. 16 Nov 1638 at Wimbledon
where his title died with him, having had by three different wives
only daughters except an infant Algernon Cecil born 23 Dec 1636 who
died the next year, by this last wife Sophia.

Although Sophia is sometimes called daughter of William le Zouche, its
more clear that she was daughter of Sir Edward le Zouche "born about
1588", son of William le Zouche of Ansby

Robert King was twice married, firstly to Frances Folliott, daughter
of Henry Folliott, Knt, 1st Lord Folliott of Ballyshannon (bap 18 Dec
1569 Pirton, Worcs) by his wife Anne Strode. By this first union,
Robert King had no less than four sons and six daughters, the eldest
son John King became the 1st Lord Kingston and died in 1676 after
having at least two sons who became 2nd and 3rd Lord Kingston in turn.

Another son of this union of Robert King to Frances Folliott was that
Robert King, 1st Bart of Boyle Abbey who married Frances Gore and
appears on Leo's site.

Robert King of Cecil House died about Jun 1657 there at Cecil House,
London. He had to have married Sophia exactly between Nov 1638 when
her previous husband died, and Dec 1642 since he is said to have moved
into Cecil House in 1642.

Robert King and Sophia Viscountess Wimbledon had two daughters
together, but one must have died young or at least without issue as
Elizabeth King is described as "sole heiress of her father" and
married Thomas Barnardiston, Knt who later died 6 Oct 1698 "aged 52"

This Thomas was the son of Thomas Barnardiston, Knt 1641, MP for Bury
St Edmonds 1640, Bart 1663 by his wife Anne Armyne daughter of Sir
Willim Armine 1st Bart by his wife Elizabeth Hicks and therefore E3
descendents themselves, in multiple ways.

Back at the farm.... Robert King's wife Frances Folliott died in 1638,
her father Henry had died 10 Nov 1622 his parents were Thomas Folliott
of Pirton, Worcs and Katherine Lygon daugher of William Lygon of
Madresfield by his wife Eleanor Dennis.

Eleanor Dennis is a 7th generation descendent of E3 and now we're
firmly back into Leo's database. So I shall close.

You will note that although Leo is showing here
http://www.genealogics.org/getperson.ph ... 7&tree=LEO

John King the 3rd Lord Kingston he is not showing his elder brother

Robert King, 2nd Lord Kingston who d.s.p Dec 1693

The interesting thing about the 2nd Lord and perhaps there is a lurid
story behind this, is that he, for some reason unknown to me, wrote
his brother John, *out* of his will. John however did something to
have that all overturned or ignored or something which is a bit murky
to me still.

I do not know whether this Robert King married, but we *can* give him
a tenative chronology as he proceeded MA 25 Jun 1670 at Brasenose
College, Oxford. He was obviously the eldest son and heir of his
father, 2nd Lord Kingston from 1676 to his death in 1693. And
obviously his parents John King and Catherine Fenton had to have
married before say 1658 in order for him to be old enough to proceed
MA. I'm fairly sure he was more likely closer to 17 to 19 rather than
12 but I don't have enough information to know.

Robert has his own DNB entry here
