On Leo's great website here
http://www.genealogics.org/pedigree.php ... 1&tree=LEO

we see a pedigree for Charles Jenkinson, 1st Earl of Liverpool, 7th
Baronet born 1729

Looking at his great-grandparents we see that Leo has in position 10
and 11 Thomas Tomlins and Susanna Cranmer with no further details.

I can now correct that.

Thomas Tomlins, esq of Bromley, Middlesex was the second husband of
Susanna Cranmer. He was buried 14 Apr 1677

Susanna Cranmer was born in 1621 (and buried 5 Jan 1681/2) as the
daughter of Susanna Powell (buried Jan 9 1676/7) by

William /Cranmer/ , esq; Deputy Governor of the Merchant Adventurer's
at Rotterdam

This William Cranmer baptised 4 Nov 1582, died Sep 1650

He was the son of Anne Carpenter (buried 13 Dec 1617) by her husband
Thomas Cranmer, Register of Canterbury who died 3 Jun 1604 "aged 69"
with an MI at St Mildred's Canterbury

Thomas Cranmer was the son of Edmund Cranmer, Archdeacon of Canterbury
by his wife Alice Sandys. Edmund was deprived of his office and died
abroad.

Edmund Cranmer was the brother of Thomas Cranmer the famous Archbishop
of Canterbury who as second son was born 2 Jul 1489 to Thomas Cranmer,
esq of Aslacton by his wife Agnes Hatfield.

Agnes Hatfield was the daughter of Lawrence Hatfield of Willoughby in
Thurgarton

Her husband Thomas Cranmer of Aslacton has a Will 27 May 1501 at
York. He was "son and heir" of John Cranmer of Aslacton by his wife
Alice Marshall of South Carleton in North Muskham, Notts

John Cranmer of Aslacton who "son and heir" of Edmond Cranmer of
Sutterton co Lincoln and Aslacton in Whatton (jure uxoris) his wife
being Isabella de Aslacton, daughter of William de Aslacton

Although the earlier generations have no good dates known to me they
certainly must have lived in the late 14th or early 15th century.

You will recall, sometime ago, we had a brief discussion of the ascent
of the author Anthony Trollope born 1815.

Number 17 in his chart is "Susannah Clobery"
Who I had already had as a daughter of John Clobery of Bradstone by
his wife Anne.

Now comes Leo here
http://www.genealogics.org/pedigree.php ... 6&tree=LEO

to tell me she is a Cranmer !

So mousing about I found how she fits in here.
Anne Cranmer was not just some layabout Cranmer, she was in fact the
widow of the President of India (sounds rather important don't it).

Anne Cranmer was bap 3 June 1633, co heiress. She married firstly a
Mr Slane, secondly in 1657 Nathaniel Wythe, President of India who
died 17 May 1659.

Thirdly Anne Cranmer married Sir John Clobury, Kt of Winchester on
April 1662. He was buried 31 Jan 1687/8 in Winchester Cathedral,
leaving a Will.

Anne Cranmer died a widow 25 Jan 1706/7.

She was the daughter of that same Susannah Powell by her husband
William Cranmer, Esq (baptised 4 Nov 1582) mentioned in my first
posting.
