I am interested in corresponding with relatives/descendants of Joseph M.
and W. F. (William Frank) Wallace; founding officers of the Inkograph pen
manufacturing company, which was in business in NYC from approx. 1914-1953.
Joseph, perhaps WF as well, were living in Chicago area in 1910 but
relocated to NYC by about 1920.
Joseph was living, with his wife Mabel, in Cedarhurst at the time of his
death March 1955. WF Wallace died in December 1962.

What is your primary reason for wanting to contact the descendants? I
can help provide information but do not want to violate the family's
privacy.

If you are certain that Joseph died in Cedarhurst, then I suggest you
contact the Nassau County Surrogate Court (at 516-571-2847) to ask if
they have a probate file for Joseph and/or his wife (if you assume she
died there as well-you will need to know death dates/month & year for
both parties). If there is a file, there will be a page in there
showing the names and addresses of the heirs/beneficiaries and you can
order a copy of the will and that page by mail. Be warned in advance
that there may be a hefty search fee. Maybe William also died in that
same county?
I could not find William listed on the SSDI--please mention his birth
date so I can find his listing. If there is no probate information
available, please contact me at my alternate e-mail address,
[email protected], if you are interested in my doing heir research for a
fee. You will get current addresses and phone numbers and backup
documentation.

Thank you so much for the probate contact info. I am reasonably certain
Joseph died in Cedarhurst; all of his patents after 1920 indicate he was a
resident of Cedarhurst. Also, the June 1952 Certificate of Dissolution for
Inkograph Co. Inc. gives his (and Mabel's) address as 454 Oak Avenue,
Cedarhurst, Long Island, NY. In both Joseph's and W. F.'s NY Times
obituaries (3/12/55 and 12/8/62 respectively) contain reference to
membership in Veritas Lodge No. 734 F. and A. M. causing me to believe they
both lived nearby.
Unfortunately, I do not have birthdates or locations for either Wallace,
that is one of the things I'd like to learn.
Again, thanks for the help.
