Reason for Discharge

I have a "Enlisted Record and Report of Separation -- Honorable
Discharge" for someone who enlisted two times.

The first time, the "Reason for Separation" was given as the
convenience of the government, demobilization. This was in November
of 1945.

He enlisted again in January of 1947 and was discharged in May 1947,
the authority being "Section III AR 615-362."

I tend to avoid military records because it's like trying to read a
foreign language. How do I find out what this section says? Section
III of what?

Section III of Army Regulation 615-362. I don't have the regulation, so I
don't know what Section III says, but AR 615-362 is for Enlisted Personnel
Discharge: Minority and Dependency or Hardship. Since he had been in
previously, he was hardly a minor. So it was for reason of Dependency or
Hardship (for his mother or wife, perhaps).

My own discharge was under AR 615-360. It was an Honorable Discharge
for completion of the term of enlistment (3 years, plus time served of
1-year involuntary extension imposed during the Korean War.)

Any old (or new) Company Clerks out there with more specifics?

Google suggests that 615-362 is a "Dependency discharge". It means he was
to only person able to look after a partner or relative.
