Telling people where to go...

I found a useful way of telling people where places are, in a way that
avoids complicated directions.

Go to http://www.infosports.com/m/map.htm

Grab and hold the map, drag it to whatever country you want. Zoom in
(the slider at the left) to get more detail.

Find the point. Click the "hand" on the spot.

No point to the red marker, and click on it. Hey presto! Locations.

Here's Picton Railway Station in NSW
150.61251640319824, -34.17902125240104.

I grabbed the detail using the directions on the web site.

Now, for anyone else to find the spot, tell them to open
http://maps.google.com/

Type in/paste in the locations you sent them (in the box just above
"Search the map") and they will get a pointer to the same place you
described to them.

Cheers

Paul
