a duel in Sweden in 1697

Can any one help with translating this? It is a short part of a personal history written by Peter Erikson Arbin (later Arbien) who was born in Arboga, Västmanland, Sweden in 1674 and died in Kristiania, Norway in 1733. In 1697 his employer was called to Greenland, and until his return allowed Peter to go to visit his father. I cannot make complete sense of this part:

Any help appreciated.

Hi Nancy!
Not a perfect translation but I'm sure you will get the gist of it.
