I have used Family Treasures software for about 10-12 years and was very
pleased with it. Recently in opening the program I got an error message
saying "error reading list index file. Run-time error 9. Subscript out of
range." I had backed up the files but had not made a GED file since 2001
when I was sharing the information with a relative. I have tried to
uninstall and reinstall the software but when it picks up the family tree
file it gives me the error message and closes the program. I have a great
deal of information that I have added to the family tree within the past 5
years, some of which I don't even have hard copies.
HELP!!!
Anyone have any ideas?
The software company was taken over by a European company a couple of years
ago and they no longer provide any support in the US.

Have you tried restoring the last backup which you know worked?
Have you tried deleting the index files to see whether it will rebuild them?
You could try contacting the company - they might be able to help:

Re: Family Treasures V4
Thanks for your suggestions. The Embla company won't offer any support in
the US. It's really a shame that no one has picked up distribution rights
for this software in the US - it is an excellent program.
I was able to solve my problem with the file error by moving the individual
family folder to another folder and then opening the program. It always
wanted to open the last program I was working on and since that was the one
with the file error I couldn't get the program to open. Once I had done this
I discovered that the program automatically had made a backup zip file of
the family tree information I was last working on. Once I unzipped it I
immediately created a GED file of all the up to date information.
Thanks for your response to my dilemma.
