Family Tree Maker 2006

I've recently switched to FTM 2006 and am very pleased with it,
particularly the merging capability with ancestry.com.

I have been attaching a copy of the census document whenever I find a
connection in ancestry, but as this document can often relate to a
number of people in my tree, I need to attach it to several records.
Is there any way that I can hold one copy of the image and link each
person to it? The alternative that I have been doing, namely to merge
the image to every relative on the document is quickly making my file
VERY large.

Any help or tips would be appreciated. I've looked through the help
text but not found anything yet.

keep two coies of your FTM master file

one with images and one without

(make the latter by exporting to a "Temple Ready" gedcm and reimporting it)

I keep images seperately and put transcriptions in the notes

I also have the file size problem because of attached document images
and photos. For documents, like census images, I attach the image to the
master source which is attached to each entry of Facts taken from the
census. Works for me.
