Without deleting individuals manually I would like to produce a Gedcom that
will not show anyone born since 1910.
I have found that the privatize feature in FTM still upsets some relatives
if only their name without any detail appears on a website.
Is there a tree program that will allow a cut off date or is there a
work-around for FTM.
Thanks,
Bill

I don't think there is an easy way to do that. Most will allow the
production of a GEDCOM eliminating living individuals. The problem is to
get them marked as living and not living.
Legacy has a feature (Advanced Set Living) that uses birth date to set. It
does a search and if it finds someone that exceeds a given age (120 default
but can be changed) it then sets that person and all ancestors as not
living.
The Legacy tag feature could also be used to tag those that you want in a
GEDCOM. I would Tag all and then remove tags for those that I do not want
in the GEDCOM.

Re: Tree software
I got around a similar problem but I did not change my file. I copied a
Register file to a word processor and just deleted the people who were
still alive. That way none of them was annoyed.

It is not necessary to really the file. The problem is to mark all people
as alive or dead. Once that is done most all programs will make a gedcom
deleting living people. No problem with those that are more than 120 years
or those that have a death date.

Hi Bill,
There is one way that you could do this, those persons that relate to this
you
could either put in "<>" for the born date or leave the space blank.
As i have done.
Note;- if you did not know it how would you deal with it.

FTM has a command to only export people in that tree/report.

If you get a tree/report showing only the folk you want to on the screen,
FTM has a command to only export people in that tree/report.
