An interesting problem.

I had a great Uncle, Donald Anthony Doemer, who was part of the post
occupational forces into Germany after WWII. Unfortunately, the man was a
bit of a cad and had a wife in Germany, and another wife in France, with,
presumably, children from each. Donald passed away in 1957 after an illness
for which he was home in Michigan, so we buried him here. Presuming that
both of these families took the Doemer name, what would be the best way of
trying to get in touch with these families?

If you have their names and the state or town in Germany and France,
try directory assistance.
