What is qvinde?

I found a family position in the 1801 census as a "qvinde" but my Norwegian English Dictionary says there are no Q words. Google translate doesn't seem to know what this is either.

This is the very old word for " woman".
No we write "kvinne".

"Mand" means man , and "børn" means child.
Marte Olsd. (datter) is his mother. Widow after 1. marriage.

Just a question. Are you looking for Arne Eriksen mentioned in your query - What is farm name? If it is the same Arne Eriksen you have the wrong Arne Eriksen here.

I am still looking for Arne Eriksen and haven't found anything. I am looking for his birth and marriage records so I can find out who his parents are.

His first wife is Marte Hansdatter and their daughter Sille was born at Kvernhaugen.

His second wife is Olia Simensdatter and their three children were also born at Kvernhaugen.
When their son Erik was confirmed, they lived at Sjølirønningen.

I have access to the Valer bygdebok right now but Arne Eriksen is not mentioned in the section about Kvernhaugen. Other people who may be related are, but I don't have enough to connect them yet.

I finally found my Arne Eriksen. He was born in 1790 according to the 1801 census. Now I am looking for his birth record.
