I have been looking for John Mullins May and his wife, Nancy Elizabeth
Dillender, who married in Owen Co, KY in 1867. They don't seem to be on
any census in 1870 or 1880, I don't find them until 1900, looking under
the spellings: May, Mays, Maye, Mayes, Mayo................ I don't
have a copy of the 1900 Census, although when I still had the census
subscription I found them as follows: 1900 Owen Co, KY--Dist. 46, Sheet
19--#389/#389, and in my notes I recorded that she had 10 births with
only 5 children Living. (They are both buried in Clark Co, IN, just
across the border from Oldham Co & Bedford Co, KY)
They have the following known children:
1. a. MELISSA ANN MAY, b. February 17, 1868, Owen Co, KY;
2. b. JASPER NEWTON MAY, b. April 19, 1871, Owen Co, KY;
3. c. EVA JANE MAY, b. November 18, 1873, Henry Co, KY;
d. PINKNEY MAY, b. November 14, 1876, Henry Co, KY.
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas, my census subscriptions have
both expired, and I do not know where else to turn or look for the other
census records and missing children????
Thanks in advance.

Order the film for the 1870 KY for the county/counties you think you might
find them in and then search page by page. You can order at the local LDS

For 1870 KY, there are no May's listed for Owen or Henry Counties. I
found John M. May(36)b. KY and Nancy(35) b. KY with 7 children and a
women named Elizabeth living with them in Pike Co., KY. Melissa should
be listed but isn't, the youngest child is 3. Image sent.
In 1870 KY, there is a Nancy listed in Owen Co. (40) b. Cananda living
with William (24) b. Canada.
In 1870 Davies Co., KY. Nancy May (21) b. KY living with Henry (4) b. KY.
I'm sending you the 1900 image but unfortunately where your names are
listed is partly unreadable. Ask someone to send the image from another

In 1900 Owen Co. KY, I found Pinkney living with Jasper & James.
In 1910 Carroll Co. KY, I found Jasper & his family. Image sent.
In 1920 Henry Co. KY, John M May with wife Annie and daughter Melissa &

I found their marriage listed at familysearch.org. I assume you probably
already had that info. Also found parents info for Nancy.
That's all I found so far.
Let me know what other specific info I can look up for you.
