General Discussion Thing-y 3: Now what

Legg inn av Michael » 28 sep 2004 02:51:17

Hi again,
Ok, I've got a fairly reasonable family tree built. I've used
family tales, combined with information from the census, provided by
many helpful people (especially here). Not what? Do I search for other
documents from the family member's lives? Do I stop here? I've traced
several people back to their old countries. What resources or help has
anyone here gotten from other countries? And, just to add a little
bragging to this, what's the farthest back anyone here has managed to
go? Thanks for reading!

I have traced my direct line on my fathers side to the Mayflower..to
John Howland.. who married Elizabeth Tilley, also on the Mayflower.
Pres Bush and I share the same 7th Great G'mother.. whose one daughter
filters down to me.. and the other daughter filters down to him. I
have the line all traced out by names.. my side and the Pres. side...
On my Mothers side, I cant even find her Grandfather!!

I've traced mine to King Edward III (and his ancestors, of course). If my
information is correct, that is...

Mine, is lopsided - some information I have dates back to 1670 or there abouts.
Familysearch.org or the family history library has been great.

My friend has her generations back to Nova Scotia in the 1600's and Europe.

I would like to have all 256 - 9th generation names. (254+ names to go)

take care
Liz
