I agree with previous remarks of disappointed people. The previously
attractive display is now unattractive and apparently much less
convenient
to use. I really regret upgrading and have hardened my view of the
manufacturer: I felt I had been shanghaied into buying the previous
upgrade by the threat that my version would not be supported. So now
greed is now coupled with incompetent design in my estimation. (Maybe
I'll change my mind after a few hours' use but I doubt it).

"I told you so"!
Try Legacy
http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com
It is very well supported.

Try Legacy, it is very well supported.

Plus with legacy you get free updates when they become available, I to used
to use FTM but no longer due to the companies policy of so called up dates
every six months or a year at about $25.00 USD each time.
When on a shoe string budget not having to pay for each upgrade makes a
differance.

Two sides to every story -- I love mine! The display is
terrific, easy to use and it's much easier to see at a
glance an entire family group.

Did you know you can still use the old FTM colors? You can
change font sizes, you can do quite a bit to tweak it if
you find it not to your liking visually

This is the first upgrade to FTM that I've been completely
happy with.

And I have to confess to having a lot of fun clicking on
the little symbols to see what Ancestry matches there are
for my lines :-)

I upgraded and, at first didn't like the new format. But, I quickly learned
it's alot easier to use than the old format particularly when entering data
about children. One doesn't have to leave the famly page to enter all the
data as before. I like it, although it looks more like a spread sheet than a
family page.

My original complaint still stands and that is with the use of the notes page.
I prepare quite a number of mini family history booklets for family members and
a lot of the information is in the notes section. This new version of FTM
makes it very complicated to print out a note page when before all you had to
do was click on the file drop down menu and click print notes. Now they say
you have to cut and paste the info to a word processor to print out the info.
For me this maks the program totally worthless. Up until this time I thought
this was the best program on the market. I will continue using version 11
untill I can find another product to replace it.
