Did Alex Haley's Roots inspire you?

Did anyone in Britain, Australia, New Zealand (anywhere except the U.S.A.)
watch or read Alex Haley's "Roots" in the late-1970s? Did it inspire you or
anybody you know to genealogical research? If so, I'd love to hear from
you.

For my part, I am a research student interested in the impact of Roots
outside the U.S.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who this relates to.

Best wishes,

For me it was the other way round. I bought "Roots" because I was interested
in genealogy, and had seen it reviewed in a genealogical magazine.

BTW multiposting is rude.
