FTM Question

Legg inn av Argyle » 19 aug 2004 21:31:34

Stupid question!

I have FMT v8, v10, v11 on my pc. V10 & 11 are upgrades. I tries removing
v8 & v10 at which point V11 stopped working because it needed v8 & v10.

I'm sitting here with nearly 200MB of storage being taken up with two old
versions.
I want to upgrade to FMT 2005 but am afraid to do so.

Any ideas?

Don't buy the upgrade - get the full version, and uninstall the others

before you install it.

An easier answer would be to email Ancestry and ask them! Aren't they

the makers of the program?

BACK UP YOUR DATA :-)) Then, remove all versions of FTM from your computer.
Reboot your computer. Then, just install V11 as if it was a full version.
Actually, that is exactly what it is. You got a cheaper price, when you
bought it, because you owned a previous version, but, it has all the same
files as the so called 'full version'.

If, after installation, for some reason, it does not pick up your data
files, just restore your back up. I had no problem with loading my data
files after installation.

Enjoy :-)

Thank you! Sounds quite logical.
