Maggie Dare 1880 Swansea

Legg inn av gj08979 » 13. juni 2009 kl. 22.46

Hei
Maggie Dare (1880 Swansea - 1945) married Magnus Bertin Hansen (1874 Ibestad, Troms) in 1901 in Wales. He had an accident in Wales which had fatal consequences in 1908. After the death Maggie returned to Ibestad to teach English to the people there. She travelled to Ibestad in 1908 she returned to Wales 1910/11.

Despite this clear information from ibestad residents not a single piece of evidence exists to show her entering Norway in 1908 , leaving Norway 1910 or her work on Ibestad. No record of her visiting prior to 1905 exists either.

Can someone find her - this is very odd.

Mange Takk,

Rob.
I've put this question on DA - it is difficult to answer.

Was her name Maggie, or was Maggie a nickname for Margaret? I found that her husband came from Breivold. She probably used her husbands surname Hansen?

One of the witnesses to a baptism of a child from Breivold in 1909 is a widow by name Anne Margret Hansen, and the child is called Margaret Kristine, born 26. december 1908, baptism 24. January 1909. Baptism no. 88 left side: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?i ... _side=-125

This might be a sidetrack, because I don`t know if Maggie Dare`s name was Anne Margaret, but it was all I found in the churchrecords :)

This is her - strangely she has changed her name to Anne Margaret rather than Margaret Anne. This child was named after her. Can you find any more??
