There is no name given for this burial record. I believe it is Else Margrethe who was the wife of Henrich Meyer. Not sure what "kieriste" means but another word for "gift" or "kone"?!
k Hendrich Mejers kieriste i kirchen paa gulfvet med alle kl. og l.p. Jun 26 1703 NK
Appreciate any help.

kieriste - I believe this must be translated with "dearest" or "precious".
Modern wording would be "Hendrik Mejer's kjæreste". His dearest or his precious.
"kjæreste" in modern word is also used for both boyfriend and girlfriend.
"i kirchen paa gulfvet med alle kl. og l.p" On the church floor with all churchbells (klokker)". Not sure what l.p means, but for some burials the family paid extra to have the bells ring.

Hello
Ligprediken = burial seremon when the prist tells about the deacesed eulogy. Do not know what eulogy means
. Just found this explanation on the internet.

Re: Another translation, please
For a small fee, the church bells ring, and the priest say some nice words...
"alle kl. og l.p."
This one got it all.
Best regards,

Re: Another translation, please
Ca. 1720 I have seen "kjæreste" used for wife in a burial.
Re: Another translation, please
Thanks so much to all, for all the information.
A person that is familiar with the deceased person, speaks to the congregation gathered to tell about the person's life is the short description of a eulogy.

Re: Another translation, please
The person does not necessarily have be familiar with the deceased but generally is.
