Sir Robert Payne of Huntingdonshire 1573-1631 Inquiry

Hello Group,

I'm looking for any information on the family of Sir Robert Payne (1573-1631) of Medloe and St. Neot's. He was MP for Huntingdonshire in the years 1614, 1621, 1626 & 1628. He was married to Dame Elizabeth (Rotherham) Payne. They had five sons and six daughters according to Sir Robert Payne's tombstone. The Visitation of Huntingdonshire of 1613 lists his sons as Robert, Gervase, and George, and his daughters as Mary, Jane, Anne, and Elizabeth. According to Dame Elizabeth Payne's will probated 1645 and son Robert Payne's will probated 1632, Sir Robert had an additional daughter named Catherine born after the Visitation of 1613. I'm trying to find out specifically the names of his other two sons, and his other daughter who were born after 1613. I'm trying to find out if my ancestor John Payne of Virginia born about 1615 was one of his sons as oral tradition dating back at least to the 18th century holds. John Payne of Virginia was the Captain of the ship the John and Do!
rothy and
had a relationship with a Captain George Payne who was married to Rachel Hawes in 1634 in London, sister of London merchants Joseph and Nathaniel Hawes who were also partners with John Payne. According to House of Lords documents, George Payne made a petition in 1660 along with Nathaniel Hawes, regarding his ship the Elizabeth captured by the Spanish in 1637 en route to Virginia. A George Pain (Payne) whose will was probated in 1662 in London mentions his children George, John, Mary, Elizabeth, and Susan. He also mentions his loving kinsmen Robert and John Payne of St. Neot's, Huntingdonshire who were probably his cousins. I suspect this George Payne to have been the son of Sir Robert Payne based on his ties to St. Neot's. I also suspect but have no proof that he was the Captain George Payne associated with John Payne of Virginia on the basis that Captain George Payne was still alive at the end of 1660, probably living in London, and that there is a George Payne whose !
will was
probated in London in 1662 with obvious ties to Huntingdonshire.

Any information or help will be greatly appreciated.
