Dear Leo,
Do You recall my Genealogical Pipedream # 1 posts of some
months back ? I believe You stated that your records indicated Johanna Louisa
was a Graham of Killearn, and I couldn`t quite figure out what that meant at
the time. I have since discovered that it was a sept of the Montrose Graham
family stemming from William Graham , rector and subsequently laird of
Killearn, youngest son of William Graham, 2nd Earl of Montrose by his wife Lady Janet
Keith. Unfortunately I have not yet discovered exactly how Captain Boyd`s
lady fits into the family, but it seems possible She wasn`t that distant a
relative, Aunt or Great Aunt? of the John Graham of Killearn, the Duke of
Montrose`s Factor who razed rhe MacGregor crofts , setting off Rob Roy`s revenge.
Not a pleasant fellow to be related to, but then, so many weren`t.
sincerely,
James W Cummings
