Heraldic Visitations Question

Legg inn av chuck owens » 27 aug 2004 20:18:00

When children were listed in the pedigrees of the Heraldic Visitations, did the list include just living children or were children, for example, who died earlier than the date of the Visitation either as an adult or as a child, listed also. Does anybody authorative answer to this?

Thanks,

Chuck Owens

I suspect the answered varied a lot. I have seen numerous cases in which a
child is listed with "obit" or some such synonym, but I would be extremely
hesitant to consider this even a policy within the recording of a single
family, let alone for all of a given herald's work. That there would have
been a policy for all Visitations I think is impossible.
