Vestre Bærum, Østre Bærum, Asker

Legg inn av dn09189 » 27 sep 2008 21:15:40

I have been doing some work on one of my student's ancestors which came from this area. I am a bit confused by some locations. It seems that I have found baptisms in the Scanned Records of Østre Bærum but I found an index on Digitalarkivet that shows the following:
8721 1848 160748 240548 Hans Christian E M Hjulmager Haagen Peders. Dæhli i v. B. Karen Kirstine Hansd. Dæhli i v. B. E: Døbt i H.K. Asker

Is Dæhli in Vestre Bærum? Or Asker? In later years' parish or census records, my recollection is it is mentioned as in Østre Bærum.
And what does "Døbt i H.K. Asker" mean? H.K.? Could it mean Hønefoss???
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

H. Kirke does not mean Hønefoss but ???
Also, for the brother of Hans Christian, Engebret Theodor, is baptised in Østre Bærum i Asker in 1856 but the Digitalarkivet records for Døpte i Asker 1800-1878 shows Dahli as in V. Bærum????

10793 1856 070956 230856 Engebret Theodor E M H. Haagen Peders. Dæhli v. B. Kirstine Hansd. Dæhli v. B. E: Døbt i H.K. Asker
Maybe the farm Dæhli is in Vestre Bærum but the baptism happens in Østre Bærum because they are so close?

H. K. means Høvik kirke (Høvik church), located in Bærum.

I am still having difficulty with this Bærum place. I found on Digitalarkivet in Asker records,
the following baptism:
10793 1856 070956 230856 Engebret Theodor E M H. Haagen Peders. Dæhli v. B. Kirstine Hansd. Dæhli v. B. E: Døbt i H.K. Asker

If Høvik Kirke is in Bærum, why would it say Asker at the end of all the entries
Digitalarkivet records for "Døpte Asker 1800-1878"??
Thank-you for your guidance.

Until 1894 Asker included Østre and Vestre Bærum.

I'm sorry, but as Høvik kirke was not built until 1898 H.K must mean Haslum kirke in this case. Haslum church is in Haslum/Østre Bærum sogn and is very old.

I see you have some interest in Dæli also in other topics. You will find Dæli in BOTH Vestre and Østre Bærum. So 2 farms - same name. So the possibility of mixing these up is there.

You can find the baptism of Engebret in the "klokkerbok" here (last entry):
Asker/Østre Bærum, 1856

and in the "Ministerialbok" here as number 196:
Asker, 1856

Yes, Per Harald Jonson is correct:

H.K. = Haslum kirke and T.K. = Tanum kirke. They are both located in what is today Bærum. Both these churches are very old.

In earlier days Bærum was a part of Asker parish.
