Jag söker information om Johan Edevard Gabrielsen som emigrerade från Norge till USA 1902.

Han föddes 23.10.1878 i Jøssund. Föräldrarna var Hanna Gurine Ellingsdatter och Gabriel Gjertsen.

Vid folketellingen 1900 var han fiskare och sjöman och bodde med föräldrar och syskon på Valmyren (Adserøen) i Jøssund

Han reste från Trondheim 16.04.1902, hans bostad var Aafjord och resmålet Comstock, Minn. Linje Stjerne och skeppet var Tasso. Biljetten var betald i Amerika.

Vad jag vill veta är om han kan ha kommit tillbaka till Norge före 1910.

I have a very quick comment. I wonder about the destination...Comstock, Minnesota.
I have relatives who live in Comstock, Wisconsin... which is near the town of Spooner, WI. Perahaps your "Johan" traveled to Wisconsin??

I suppose he could have travelled to Wisconsin.
I would be grateful for any traces of him in America, and even more for evidence that he came back to Norway. I have this Johan Gabrielsen who was in Vardö 1909 and Johan Edvard would fit in just fine, but not if he was in America at the same time.

Perhaps someone with Ancestry.com in this forum can search the 1905 Wisconsin state census for Johan/John in Polk County. I think Comstock is in Polk Co, Johnstown Township, WI.

Hei igjen!
In Heritage Quest (which I can use from home using my library membership) I found one Iver Gabrielson age 43 in 1910 living in Polk county, Johnstown township. He is married to Inga (?) and they have 2 children, Martha and George. Is it possible that your Johan went to them??...do you know of this family?
Iver immigrated in 1886 from Norway.

but I doubt that Iver and Johan were closely related.
I don't know of Ivers family, but then again, I don't know much about Johans family either.
