Henrik Qvalem marriage 1773

Legg inn av dn09189 » 25. mai 2008 kl. 21.08

I have found the marriage of Henrik Qvalem on page 383 in the Kvinnherad parish records of 1754-77. Does anyone have experience with this priests printing? I see it happened on the Dom 1 post Trinit i Olves (or Ølves Kirke) but not sure what it says Henrik is? Brundafolk i Mons? What might that mean? Would there be a record of their marriage announcment (Trolovorst) before this (can't seem to see any?)

Also if anyone can direct/explain to me about the Gard Qvalem. Each priest seems to be writing it differently [Qvalem, Qaleims (birth of son, Hendrich in 1785), Kvalem in 1750's, )
Does it change to Øvalem or is it Qvalem at the burial record of son Hendrik Meier in 1846 #9 in March in Tysnes Parish (p.299) Also says Opholdsted is T.S. Valle, I think. What does that mean?
I will also put this under the Tysnes board.
Thank you for any assistance or direction you can give me.
Sincererly,
David Vinge

I read it as "Bruudefolk (the married couple) Mons Hendrik Qvalem og pigen (miss) Sophie Larsdatter Gaathe"

The letter "Q" is sometimes used for the letter "K". There is a place now in Kvinnherad called "Kvalen", perhaps the same place as "Qvalem"?
