The Roglo database has Maralde’s parents as Marques &
<http://geneweb.inria.fr/roglo?lang=en;i=1388912> Béatrix de La
Roche-en-Régnier, who m c 1314.

It would appear that Maralde married Hugues III de CHATEAUNEUF c 1322, so
these dates seem too close.

There are two other versions of this woman’s parentage on web pages:-

i) dau of Marques by Eleanore de
CHATEAUNEUF [APCHIER] citing Nobiliaire de Rouergue by de BARAU [pub 1853]
Dates seem to far apart! &

ii) dau of Marques by Alix de
POITIERS – citing Europaische Stamtafeln XIV, 190

I have ES XIV, 190 – something is not right with this. It has Maralde m
before 8 Jul 1336 to Hugues de CHATEAUNEUF. It also has split [vs. the
Roglo database] Marques into two first cousins.

a) m Almois de CENARET, son of Marques by
Eleanor d’APCHIER &

b) m [1] Beatrix de la ROCHE-en-REGNIER & m
[2] c 1322 Alissant de POITIERS, son of Guillaume & NN de DEAULX.

I know that ES is not highly regarded when it comes to French families, but
it should at least be better than Nobiliaire de Rouergue by de BARAU [pub
1853] . Unfortunately I do not know what ES used as the source for this
family. Roglo cites Armorial du Gevaudan by LESCURE, though this does not
appear to verify the marriage to Beatrix de la ROCHE-en-REGNIER.

Something doesn’t add up here, has anything else come to light on the
maternity of Maralde?

Regards,

Don McArthur,

Johannesburg.
