I Anthonye Bronn’ of Sowthewelde in the Countie of essex\ one of the Justices
of the Comen Benche and one of the of the sonnes of Weston Bronn’\ whilis he
lyved of Abbesrodinge in the countie of esssx knight and of Elizabeth his\
wief one of the daughters of william Mordante of Turveye in the Countie of
Beds\ esquire deceassed the twentithe daye of December in the eighte yere of the
reigne\ of o^r^ Sovereign Ladie Queene Elizabeth and in the yere of o^r^
Lord god one thousand\ fyve hundred three score and fyve doo ordenie and make
this my p’nte Last will and testamet\ in manner and forme following ffirst I
doo will my soule to allmightie god my Creato^r^ and\ Savio^r^ to whose infinte
mercie I comitt my soll I will my boddie to be buried in Chren [*]\ buriall
in the Channcell of the Churche of Sowthwelle aforsaide if I shall dye
w^th^in\ twentie myles of it withe suche ffuneralls Allms oblequis and Ceremonies
to be doon at [*]\ my buriall as becomethe and in the Catholike Church of god
ys used by the discretion\ of my executors And I doo give to the reparation
of the saide church twentie shillinges\ besides the ordinarye Charges Item I
give to the reparation of the Cathedrall Church of\ Sainte Pawle in London
ffortie shillinges And I doo give to be besowed uppon the Church\ of
Abbesroding, where I was borne twentie shillings Item I doo give to Seriannte In
whereof\ I am ffowretie shillings I doo will Johane reynolde be paide her Annuytie
of Syxe\ shillings eighte pence, during her lief acording to a dede of grannte
to the saide rente\ to her made by me at the requeste of my saide mother for
her dilig’nce s^r^vice doone about\ my saide mother in the tyme of her
sicknes And I doo will to the saide Johane for Charitie\ towardes her relief
duringe her life twetie shillings yerelie All the saide severall rentes\ shalbe
yerelie goyng owte of all my ffarms and leases within the realme of Englande
excepte Clayton tythe in the Countie of Lancaster and that for non payment
thereof or for anye\ parte of them it shalbe laifull unto the saide Johan to
distreigne for the saide severall\ rentes in the saide premisses and everie
percell thereof excepte before exprested Item I doo give\ to my dere and
welbeloved wieff All my leasse terme and interest that I have of the\ tythes and
things tytheable of Clayton in the parrisshe of Laylonde in the countie of
Lancs\ comonlie called Clayton tithe or Clayton Tythe Bron if she shall do long
lyve as the\ same leasse dothe endewer And if my saide wief shall fortune to
dye within the saide\ terme I doo will the residewe of that terme, that then
shall remeyne not incurred or\ ended in the Lief of my saide wief to Dorothe
Hudlestone daughter to mye saide wief\ And if the saide Dorothe shall fortune
to dye in the lief of my saide wief then I\ Will my saide Leasse of Clayton
tithe Baron and all my Interest in the saide tithes and\ things titheable in
Lallonde and Clayton belonging to Clayton tythe or Clayton tithe\ Baron shall
whollie remeyne and be to mye saide wief for ever And my full and plaine\
mynde ys that the saide Leasse or tterme of Clayton tithe afor saide shall not
be charged\ ne chargeable withe anye of my dettes nor withe any rente or some
of Monin’eys given\ or willed by this will to any boddie excepte my gooddes
and Leasses resideewe be\ insufficient to discharge the same I doo will that
suche person and persons for the tyme\ beinge for ever as shall possesse and
enjoye after my decesse from tyme to tyme for ev^r^ my\ manno^r^ of Southweld

Book of presidentes that I receyved of Robert Brook to be delivered\ to my
Cosen Robert mordante Bycause the same I hadd by hym and the same doo beloge\ [*]

Jenour myche of it\ his owne hande be delyvered to Androwe Jenour sonne and
heire to Richard Jenour of w^ch^\ Richard I receeved the same Book I doo
give to my said wief of whose honestie obedience\ vertue and good lief I have
hadd good and longe experience thakes be to god my dettes and\ legacies first
paide and dicharged to other all my gooddes and Chattells platt Juells and\
leasses what soever they byn of what so ever nature kynde or sorte they be not
otherwise\ given or appointed by this will to have to her to her owne use

To the prisoners in everie of the prisons called the kings Benche\ the
Marshallseye Newgate and Ludgate ffowretie shillings and to everie of the newe\
ffounded howses the one at the greye ffriers the other at Bride Well ffowretie
shillings and\ to the poore Bretherin and Sisters of Sainte Dunstones in London
thertene Shillings\ fowre pence and to the relief of provision for poore
folks in the Savoye ffyve pounds\ to be paide by my saide executrix in
