Theobald Walters Age and Some Other Notes

Good Morning Will Johnson and others,
I believe that from the notes of the marriage of Beatrice and the
corresponding documents Will, that you can see that Theobald was more
than old enough.
Regarding his holding the lands of Amounderness before 1166(Lib. Nig.)
that too is fairly well documented, the exact wording I will have to
dig thru my boxes, pre Lancaster-Reinfrid discussion of two years ago,
but you can check (Lib. Nig.) stands for Liber Niger Seuccarii-Black
Book ..., and as I understand it is the records of the exchequer of
the time, more or less like pipe rolls.
Further:
Comparative ages, Hubert Walter in his 20-30's was secretary to his
uncle Randolph de Glanville, Hubert in his fathers(Hervey Walters)
gift to Butley priory in 1171 of Wingfield estates is listed as
Clericius et filiis Huberto Waltero and also with his brothers Hamon
and Roger.
So even if Hubert at best were only 20 in 1171 that makes him 50 in
1200 and Theobald in his mid to late 40's more than amply old enough
to have been married earlier to a first wife other than Matilda
Vavasour.

Hervey Walter, at the same time, same year, was the witness to
Randolph de Glanville founding charter of Butley priory and Hervey as
witness, signs his name as Hervey de Glanville.
Other things of interest, I found a small note alledging Theobald II
and his sister Matilda were born in Boxted Suffolk.
Tonite for those that interested in such things, will post a brief
descent of the Botelers of Wem and of Ireland of their plantagenet
descent more than once for the both sides and the direct descent from
King David of Scotland, there is also more than ample evidence of
inter-connectedness, besides marriage.
Best Regards,
Emmet L. Butler
