Botelers of Warrington: The First Generations

Good Afternoon Will and Others interested in the Botelers,

I do agree that the Lancashire Histories is a secondary source but
took it in consideration that by later grants that verified that
Randulph fitzBarnard, sheriff of Lancaster at the time who had
wardship of William and his sister, Albreda, by writ of the King, who
granted her in marriage in the last year of His Wardship to William
Pincerna (Le Boteler) to Thurstan de Vilers, by three other charters
found elsewhere.

Gregory the chaplain of Crophill, gave by charter IV bovates of land
granted to him by Albreda, daughter of Richard Pincerna to Luke his
Messenger etc...(Thurgratton Register of Southwell)
Later, by her 2nd husband,Walter de Stanton 17/18 John (1216), paid 20
marks for seisen of the land for his son John that he had been
deseised of in Crophill. (Rot de Oblatis et Finibus)
Again:
Another charter by Walter de Stanton merely in reference to Albreda he
says" pro salute Albreda Vilars uxoris meae e pro animabus" etc...
(Thurgratton Register)
With these that I did not list, my sincere aplogies, as I only to well
remember the FitzReinfrid , William de Lancaster affair of two years
ago and will try to include prinary sources with secondary only as
necesarry, I am sure many will remember how badly that line has been
mangled over the years but I have numerous charters, grants, fines
etc. that may re-write that line.
As far as HS' post on Ada Furness, Fleming/ Workington 2nd or 3rd wife
of William Pincerna(Le Boteler) I have many thoughts that I will post
seperately,(tonite) The Fleming line is horrendous and she may or may
not have been Williams wife or William Le Flemings wife by the
charters I will post, how one can get Ada/Alice/Alicia out of Alyna
should be most interesting to say the least and would be most
interestiing to hear others thoughts and research!!!
Best Regards,
Emmett L. Butler
